Elías Torres


He is considered one of the foremost current Spanish architects. He has collaborated professionally with José Antonio Martínez Lapeña since they opened their professional studio together in 1968.

His projects include the esplanade of the Barcelona Fórum and its enormous solar panel, which received the special award at the International Venice Biennale of Architecture.  Alongside José A. Martínez Lapeña, he is the author of renowned urban furniture designs such at the Pal·li bus shelter (ADI-FAD Silver Delta Award 1988), the first element in a new conception of urban furniture which would regenerate the city of Barcelona, and the Lampelunas street lamp (ADI-FAD Gold Delta Award 1986) edited by Urbidermis.
