Der 1908 eröffnete St Andrew’s Playground Park war jahrzehntelang Zeuge der Entwicklung des Stadtteils, der aufgrund seiner Bedeutung für die Textilindustrie im frühen 20. Jahrhundert als Fashion District bezeichnet wird. Der Park und der Spielplatz haben dem angrenzenden Viertel, einem traditionellen Fabrikviertel, das in ein Geschäfts- und Wohnviertel umgewandelt wurde, stets gute Dienste geleistet.
