Pau Roviras studied Industrial Design at the Elisava School of Barcelona and the Pompeu Fabra University.
Carlos Torrente studied Industrial Design at the Elisava School of Barcelona and the Vienna University of Applied Arts.

In 1972, Pau and Carlos co-founded their own studio focussed on the design of furniture, lighting, bathrooms and urban elements.
Over the years, they have racked up collaborations with renowned national brands in the sector like Roca Sanitarios, Cosentino and Esofet.

In 2000, they decided to expand their services to include the automotive, signage and body shop sectors. To this end they moved into an old textile factory in Sabadell where they could explore the industrial design trends and product development.

In 2013, in Sant Cugat, they focussed their knowledge on comprehensive development with a large technological component. There they began to collaborate on the Klapcap project, subsequently founding Klapcap Solutions. Finally, as a result of their professional maturity, in 2015 they created the RoBot Design studio, a design creative management consultancy firm.

Their work has been recognised through the awarding of various national and international prizes given by the ADI FAD, InteriHotel, Designpreis der Bundesrepubli, Red Dot and the Design Plus Award (2005) in Frankfurt, for the Aeri and D38 project. They have also received the New York Good Design and California Adex Gold awards.

During his professional career, he also complimented his work with teaching, giving Product Design courses at Elisava (2004).

Pau Roviras and Carlos Torrente are the designers behind the Caudal fountain (2005).

The Caudal fountain stands out for its inclusive design, created for people with reduced mobility. Its formal solution, the position of the button and pipe and the anti-splash water collection surface provide functionality and comfort. Additionally, the new touchless version activates the fountain without contact.

With simple geometric shapes, the Caudal fountain was developed to be inclusive, in collaboration with groups of people with reduced mobility; designed to lift the architectural barriers in the cities. By increasing the receptacle to 90 cm, splashing is minimized and use is facilitated for people in wheelchairs.
