Antonio de Marco

This industrial designer from Milan founded the Antonio De Marco Studio in 2017. Known for his philosophy “un laboratorio dove si pensa con le mani” (a laboratory where you think with your hands), his designs are geometric, balanced and restrained.

Antonio de Marco

Antonio de Marco is an industrial designer. He studied at the Milan Polytechnic and the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen and obtained his master’s degree at the Marangoni Institute in Milan. Besides his work as a designer, he teaches classes on the Design Methodology master’s at the Polytechnic School of Design in Milan.

In his youth, Antonio de Marco regularly attended workshops on mechanics and carpentry, which served him as an ongoing stimulus to search for, create and experiment with new ways of transforming matter. Passionate about how things are made, the components they are made with and what and whom they are used for, he designs objects that remain relevant over time and create a place for themselves in the memory of the user.

His designs, mostly for interior use, are characterised by their geometric lines, perfect forms and harmonious and balanced compositions. They are elements that are pleasing to the eye, light, timeless and durable; all adjectives that constitute the hallmark of Italian product design and which Antonio de Marco is a master at achieving.

Antonio de Marco is the creator of Táctil (2007), a versatile and highly original product that can serve as both a public bike rack and bollard. Its formal expression lends it a unique aesthetic, suggesting the function it can fulfil.
