The Táctil Bollard is an original, expressive element that performs the functions of a bollard and a rack for bicycles. Its formal expression provides uniqueness, and suggests the function that it can perform.
Antonio de Marco
Antonio de Marco graduated as an industrial designer from the Polytechnic University of Milan. He holds a master's degree in product design from the Istituto Marangoni and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. In 2009, Antonio de Marco co-founded the design studio 4P1B. Years later, in 2017, he opened his own studio, Antonio de Marco Studio. It is a workshop for experimentation, research and design. As he says: “un laboratorio dove si pensa con le mani”, a laboratory where you think with your hands. His designs, the majority for interior use, are characterised by their geometric lines, their perfect forms and their harmonic and balanced compositions. As elements they are pleasing to the eye, unobtrusive in spaces, timeless and durable. These are adjectives that we can use to emphasise Italian product design, which Antonio de Marco delivers to perfection. Some of Antonio de Marco's pieces have won awards, such as the TAMBURO chair. He is a winner of the best outdoor residential product from Archiproducts. Antonio de Marco combines his work as a designer with teaching. He is a lecturer in the master's degree in design methodology at the NABA Polytechnic and Design University of Milan. His is the author of the Táctil bicycle rack (2007), an element designed to either fulfil the role of a bicycle rack or serve as a bollard. The element is recessed using two bolts that are part of the same piece, inserted into holes made in the pavement in advance, filled in with epoxy resin, quick cement or similar. The element is supplied assembled and packaged. Installation and assembly instructions included.
