Urban trees make up a significant part of the city’s green infrastructure. We select urban trees by considering how well they will adapt to the environment, how easy they are to maintain and how to mitigate future risks. Each species has characteristics and benefits that improve well-being for people, increase the perceived value of the renewed space, promote the inclusion of biodiversity in the city and reduce contaminants and high temperatures.
